Time in Song

As Tracy Lawrence once sang, "Time Marches On". I know. That's not news. The oldest of the "baby boom" generation are turning 70 this year. Maybe some people didn't know that. Linda just turned 70 a few days ago and Dolly got there in January and Cher in May. I hit 70 a few months ago - can't sing a note. Barry Gibb will be 70 in September, Daryl Hall in October and Jimmy Buffet on  Christmas Day. I'm ready for a slowdown of this "Time Machine". Maybe I can save some "Time in a Bottle" or at least be "Putting the Brakes on Time". Maybe there is a place "Where Time Stands Still". I'm not ready for "Quittin Time". Since no one's come back to tell us about life after death, I want to be around for a "Long, Long Time".

The songs that follow in no particular order all mention Time in the Title. By my intro, I don't mean to imply that these songs will only be of interest to Senior Citizens. Maybe I was just having a senior moment when I mentioned some of the oldest baby boomers. (The youngest boomers are only turning 52, mere babes.) Some of the songs were never released as singles and the artist I've listed is not always the first to record the song. What gave me the idea to make up this playlist? I looked at the list of songs on the back of Kree Harrison's great debut album, "This Old Thing", and noticed that tracks 7, 8 and 9 of the 13 songs all mentioned "Time" in the title:

track 7 - The Time I've Wasted (Lori McKenna, Liz Rose & Jesse Walker) "for all the time i've wasted on you" - what she could have done.

track 8 - Every Time I Fall in Love (Sarah Buxton, Al Anderson & Ken Johnson) "how come it feels like it was meant to be, every time ..."

track 9 - I've Got Time (Kree Harrison, Brett Tyler, Chase McGill & Eric Snyder) "for lovin' you"

What big "Time" songs did I miss?
